The weird sisters

In act one scene one and three they introduce the weird sisters, also known as the "witches." The word weird comes from old english meaning "wyrd", which means fate. These witches speak of the future, and predict battle and meeting Macbeth. The sisters never seem to be apart from eachother. They spend most of their time chanting, casting spells, and calling up visions of the future. They also push Macbeth into murder from predictions before they vanish into thin air.
