"Blood will have blood"

In act three scene four they mention a quote saying "blood will have blood". Macbeth is a murderer who's crimes have not yet noticed. Although he has committed these crimes and continues to do so he knows that he will not get away with it for long. When Macbeth goes to say "blood will have blood" he is trying to say that the blood of the victim will soon find the blood of the murderer, and a murder will always be discovered.

"Blood on their hands"

In act two scene two they mention the blood on Macbeth's hands. The blood on Macbeth's hands is referring to their murderous journey they have been on. The blood is a symbol of guilt, and they feel as though the crimes they have committed has marked them in a way that can't be washed away. An example for this would be in line 58 "Will all great Neptune's ocean wash this blood clean from my hands?"

Ross

Ross is Macduffs cousin and is a Scottish noble. He really doesn't have a clue about what is going on with Macbeth. At first Ross is on Macbeth's side, and isn't really sure of who killed Duncan even though he suspiciously thinks it was Macbeth that did it, but still remains quiet about it. By act four Ross finally is coming to his senses and is finding out everything and is sorry for Maduffs family. He then flees to England to help Malcolm and Macduff fight against Macbeth.

Macduff

Macduff, the Thane of Fife, is a quiet, but loyal man to his country and family. When Macduff finds out that King Duncan has been murdered he is filled with rage. Macduff only wants great things for his country. He decides to flee the country to help Malcolm in England with the army to fight against Macbeth. When Macduff arrives in England to help Malcolm he is to first take a trust test so theat Malcolm knows that he is trustworthy to fight against Macbeth. In the end Macduff murders Macbeth and Malcolm becomes the rightful king.

Donalbain

Donalbain is Duncan's youngest son. He does not say much in the play, but when he finds out his father is killed he tells his brother they must leave, but they don't go to the same place. Although he is focused on the safty of their lives, he still mourns over the death of his father. Donalbain goes to Ireland while Malcolm goes to England. They seperate, because they belive that fleeing to diffent areas will increase their survival.

Malcolm

Malcolm is Duncan's oldest son and is a fearful man after his fathers death. After his father has been killed he becomes fearful of his life and is confused about who he is. He then leaves Scotland and goes to England to become more mature and figure out who he is again. He starts to gathers an army in despite his farther's death to defeat Macbeth's army to regain his throne, and make everything better.

Banquo

Banquo is a brave, loyal man and has a lot of wisdom. He also is an ambitious man, but never takes action of his ambitious thoughts. Macbeth admires Banquo's bravery but fears his wisdom, because he is wise enough to know that something is not right after Duncan's death. He then starts to call for a meeting with the nobles questioning the bloody work, and suspects Macbeth for what has happened.

In the begging for the play Macbeth is a loyal man, but by the third scene he has become a traitor and a murderer. In the first scene he was said to be a "noble and brave man". Duncan is impressed by that and grants him "Thane of Cawdor", but then he starts to become a traitor by listening to Lady Macbeth and The Witches and wants to be more than what he is. So he starts to listen to Lady Macbeth and the witches and does what they say in order to get where he wants to be.

Lady Macbeth

Lady Macbeth is a ruthless and an ambitious person. From the start of the play she is already planning Duncan's murder. She knows she is a bad person and will also have to push Macbeth into murdering Duncan. When Macbeth gets home Lady Macbeth starts to jump on Macbeth about the murder she wants him to commit, because she thinks that he was going to back out. By doing so she starts to insult him on his manhood and questions his courage saying she'll do it herself if he doesn't do the deed.

Duncan is a good man.

Duncan is the king of Scotland and is a good man that is murdered by Macbeth. Duncan is said to be a good man, because all he wants is great things for his kingdom and people, and is a very giving person when well has been done. For example Duncan gives Lady Macbeth a diamond for letting him stay at her place. He is able to put down a rebellion and to punish a traitorous thane, as well as a king. He is also willing to share the fruits of the victory. The only bad thing about King Duncan is that he has too much trust in people and sometimes they are not very trustworthy.

Macbeth flip flop

In act two scene one and two Macbeth starts to flip flop with his emotions. As he begins the approach on killing Duncan he becomes more uneased. He stars seeing and hearing things and doesn't know if it's real or not and starts to second guess things. But he then starts to continue with the mission. Macbeth then begins to cry out when doing so. After he was done he came back out, but forgot to keep the dagger there and refused to go back, because he knew what he did was wrong.

Macbeths Sanity

In act two scene one Macbeth starts to become insane. At the time when Macbeth was in the process of mudering Duncan, Macbeth was still sane. After he killed Duncan he began to talk down on himself saying he is going to hell for what he has done and nothing would change that. He then begins to continue on his merderous path and starts to lose his mind. Macbeth is now a merderer and a tyrant and is isolated form his Wife Lady Macbeth.

Sailors wife

In act one scene three they introduce the sailor's wife. The sailor had saild to Aleppo as master of the ship called Tigger. His wife was just sitting, eating chestnuts from off her lap, when the first witch came across her and told her to give her some chestnuts. The sailors wife cried " Get away from me you witch." The witch became angry and claimed to do bad things to her husband.

Owl and a Falcon symbolize

In act two scene four they mention an owl and a falcon. Outside of Macbeths castle at night there is a conversation between and old man and Ross. Ross and the old man has noticed that there has been unusal supernatural thinks happing with the animals. The old man then goes on to say that, that previous tuesday he had also seen something unusual. He saw that a mouse-hunting owl had attacked and killed a falcon.The owl is a symbol of wisdom and helpfulness. This bird is also known as the harbinger of death and is bad when it is seen during the day. The falcon represents royalty, pride, speed and swiftness. People that were of higher class kept these birds as pets and hunters.

The weird sisters

In act one scene one and three they introduce the weird sisters, also known as the "witches." The word weird comes from old english meaning "wyrd", which means fate. These witches speak of the future, and predict battle and meeting Macbeth. The sisters never seem to be apart from eachother. They spend most of their time chanting, casting spells, and calling up visions of the future. They also push Macbeth into murder from predictions before they vanish into thin air.

Who really wears the pants in the family?

In act one scene three we read about how Macbeth wears the pants in the family. Macbeth is a general and is Scottish; He is originally from Scotland, He is ambitious, and will do anything in his power to get whatever he wants. But there's a twist, just because he is the man of of the house doesn't mean he truly wears the pants in the relationship. Lady Macbeth, his wife is the one who originally wears the pants. She is the one to push her husband into crime, she is has fear and determination.

Who is Bellonas Bridesgroom?

In act I scene I we read about Ross, the bridesgroom of Bellona. We learn that he is a wealthy man that still lives with his mother. when the act begins he goes out to check onhis recently bought vineyard, but as he continues to so his mother begins to worry, and she starts to bumbard him with questions regarding his safety. When he chose a knife to take with him, his mother becomes angry due to her belief that her husband and son were murdered by so called "the blade of a knife."
